Seth Perkins

Hello Massachusetts DECA! My name is Seth Perkins and I am deeply honored to serve as your next State officer. I have officially begun my term along with the rest of your state action team, and we all eagerly await the tasks ahead. As your state Officer I believe it is necessary for you to know me on a more personal level, as much as I hope to know you. I am currently a Senior at Rockport High school and intend on going to a university to duel major in History and Political science. The activities I enjoy partaking in are: hanging out with friends, theater, debating, counting by twos, reading, rock climbing, and social gatherings. My favorite T.V. shows are The Simpsons, South Park, House, and Spongebob. Lastly people whom I find extremely inspirational are George Washington, John Adams, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Truman, John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Steven Colbert. Throughout my life many people have helped me and when I launched my campaign even more rose to my side. To these people, I thank you, especially: My mother, my teachers, my DECA advisor Scott Larsen, Mrs. Kathy Moss, the Moss family, the Amero Family, the Asaro family, Glen Asaro, Sean Dunne, Alex Cleaves, Jeff Cloak, Sydney Colussi, Emily Ohrtman, James Frye, Tyler Raymond, Camilla States, Brian Audano, Sam Cunningham, Dona Lambert, the Silva family, the Mondellos, Marcos Rodrigues, Mrs. Quirk, Ms. Cacuzzi, Ian Sonia, Ryan Dunne, Mike McGuilicuddy, Mike Gao and you. 
 
            I and the rest of your state officer team have bonded and become good friends! We hope to provide for you an exceptional DECA year. Every officer is extremely excited to serve all of you and your goals. The goals of each individual DECA member sends forth a strong resolution that may bring down any issue and rise any possibility.  The challenges ahead may be long, but together we may progress. My personal goals for this year consists of reaching to those who are in need of financial aide for DECA, critiquing voting, and to help you with yours. Team 53 is ready to show extraordinary effort in fight for you Massachusetts DECA.
 
            Personally I am more than excited to serve you. Being Elected by you was one of the most invigorating, humbling, and powerful moments of my young life. This same feeling fills me now with the thought that I may publicly serve you. I hope to realize all your goals, and work with you to accomplish them. All the challenges that lay ahead shall be met with great vim and vigor. My opinion of these goals and challenges can be summed up by a quote from John F. Kennedy, “ All this will not be finished in the first 100 days. Nor will it be finished in the first 1,000 days, nor in the life of this administration...But let us begin.” In closing, Massachusetts let us begin to move forward and upward together.
